About Us

Back in the 1960’s Mrs Vandara was one of the first to open a guesthouse in Luang Prabang. And up to this day this enterprising woman still remains the reflection of warmth and hospitality for this beautiful city.

The Vanvisa Guesthouse will offer you the experience of being in the home of an authentic Laos family. The house is crammed with lovely antiques and local artifacts. The rooms may differ in levels of luxury but share Mrs. Vandara’s welcoming touch.

Vanvisa Guesthouse has a peaceful location on the edge of the lively centre of LPB and offers an excellent starting point for visits to the various attractions in this temple city. Mrs. Vandara is the writer of the book ‘Food And Travel Lao’ and is well known for her cooking classes. Testament to her culinary skills she loves to serve her guests with the most amazing dishes, not soon to be encountered again.

In the front room of the Vanvisa Guesthouse there is a boutique displaying a fascinating array of local silks, cottons and handicrafts. The textiles have often been weaved on Vanvisa'a own loom. (Vanvisa Textiles)
